CodeTwo Exchange Folders is a legacy server-side synchronization utility designed to mirror Microsoft Exchange data (calendars, contacts, and tasks) from public or personal folders directly to Android and iOS devices.
Setting up the platform requires a server-side software installation coupled with a dedicated mobile application. Phase 1: Server-Side Installation and Configuration
The server components manage data pulling and push notifications to mobile clients.
Install the Administration Panel: Download the installation package from the CodeTwo Software Repository and run it on a machine with network access to your MS Exchange environment.
Establish the Exchange Connection: Launch the panel and follow the built-in server connection wizard. Provide standard service credentials with access rights to read the target Public Folders or targeted mailbox stores.
Select Synchronized Folders: In the management dashboard, map out the precise root or subfolders containing your company calendars, tasks, or contact sheets.
Configure Access Rights: Assign precise item-level read, write, or delete permissions for specific Active Directory users or security groups. Phase 2: Mobile Client Setup
To receive the server data on individual devices, users must install and connect the native client utility.
Download the Mobile Application: Install the official CodeTwo Exchange Folders app on the target phone or tablet via the Google Play Store (Android) or Apple App Store (iOS).
Connect to the Server Module: Open the app and enter the server domain/IP address along with the secure access credentials provided by the system administrator.
Trigger the Initial Sync: Select the public or personal folder feeds you wish to pull down to the mobile device and execute the first data fetch.
Note: CodeTwo Exchange Folders is a legacy product. Organizations migrating away from on-premises hosting or upgrading infrastructure commonly replace it with cloud sync tools like CodeTwo Exchange Sync or standard Microsoft 365 Exchange ActiveSync topologies.
If you are evaluating this platform, please let me know your current Exchange version and whether you plan to deploy it for public or personal folders. I can help you confirm if this utility fits your current architecture. Quick guide | CodeTwo Backup User’s manual
